How do I know if my child needs Physical therapy?
* Your child has a strong preference for turning the head to one side.
* Your child has a strong preference for using one side of their body.
* Your child walks on his or her toes.
* Your child frequently trips or falls when walking.
How do I know if my child needs occupational therapy?
* Your child is overly sensitive to touch, textures, tastes, sounds, and movements.
* Your child is under responsive to touch, sound or have unusually low emotional responses.
* Your child is not meeting the expected milestones during the first year of life.
* Your child complains of pain when performing gross motor tasks.
Does my child's doctor play a role?
* Yes. All services originate with a prescription from your child's pediatrician. This is required for both
assessment and treatment. Once the evaluation is complete the pediatrician will receive a copy of
evaluation.
